Fairs

The fair of the patron saint, Sant’Ermete

The annual Fair of Sant’Ermete takes place every year on August 28, filling the streets and squares of the town center with market stalls offering traditional goods and ethnic crafts. The fair is the culmination of the celebrations dedicated to the town’s patron saint, which begin on August 26 with the historic religious procession accompanying the sacred relics from the Town Hall to the Church. In honor of the Saint, the evening of August 27 is marked by the lighting of the Focata, a large ceremonial bonfire in Piazza Garibaldi. The celebrations continue the following day with the fair market and conclude with a spectacular fireworks display launched from the Pontile and visible from the beach. As a living expression of Forte dei Marmi’s traditions, the celebrations of Sant’Ermete are a cherished occasion of gathering and shared enjoyment, inviting residents and visitors alike to stroll through the town and soak up the welcoming atmosphere that defines Forte dei Marmi at its very best.
