Forte dei Marmi is preparing for one of the most eagerly awaited and deeply felt moments of the year: the celebrations in honor of Sant’Ermete, the town’s patron saint. A much-loved occasion that brings together local identity, spirituality and tradition, marking one of the highlights of the summer season in Forte dei Marmi.
The celebrations will unfold over three days, with a full program of events and opportunities to come together:
• Wednesday 26 August, 9:30 pm – the Historical and Religious Procession will set off from Piazza Dante and make its way through the streets of the town center.
• Thursday 27 August – the evening will begin at 9:00 pm with the solemn Blessing of the Town at the Church of Sant’Ermete. At 9:30 pm, in Piazza Garibaldi, the traditional Focata bonfire will once again be lit, followed by the Sant’Ermete Tombola draw.
• Friday 28 August – the traditional Sant’Ermete Fair will take place throughout the town center, a much-loved event for residents and visitors alike. At 6:30 pm, the Solemn Mass will be celebrated at the Church of Sant’Ermete, followed by the presentation of the prestigious “Amico del Forte” Award. To bring the festivities to a close, at 10:00 pm the sky above the sea and the Pontile will light up with the spectacular fireworks display.
To ensure that the celebrations can take place safely, the relevant municipal offices will continue to monitor weather conditions and keep residents informed of any updates.
