Un dettaglio di Palazzo Zarri a Forte dei Marmi
Architecture

Details make the difference

Palazzo Zarri, Forte dei Marmi. Detail of the facade.
A fisherman holding a rezzaglio, an ancient circular throw net: the work, by sculptor Giancarlo Buratti of Pietrasanta, is actually a splendid lamp – and, of course, a tribute to the fishermen of today, yesterday, and tomorrow.

In case you didn’t know, the facade of Palazzo Zarri in Piazza Garibaldi, in the very center of town, recently underwent major restructuring under the guidance of architect Marco Pacini, who saw to refreshing the painted decoration, restored by artist Sabrina Zappalà, the historic marginetta (votive aedicula) from 1835, and many other details. The palace is an important monument for the history of Forte, commanding our admiration every time we pass by.
